Simple Way to Red Chile Sauce From Frozen

Frozen Horseradish Sauce

The following recipe can be used to make a red chile sauce from just about any red chile powder or combination of chile powders.

Recipe Summary Frozen Horseradish Sauce

This recipe, which dates to the 1920's, was my grandmother's. She served it with roast beef, but it would also be excellent with other beef dishes and sandwiches.

Ingredients | Red Chile Sauce From Frozen

½ cup prepared horseradish, drained

1 tablespoon white sugar

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup mayonnaise

1 cup heavy cream, whipped

Directions

In a medium bowl combine the drained horseradish with the sugar, salt and mayonnaise. Fold in the whipped heavy cream.

Freeze the mixture in a freezer-weight plastic container for at least 2 hours. Set out 15 minutes before serving.
